This week we learned about
the seven habits of highly effective people. The seven habits are: be
proactive, begin with the end in mind, put first things first, victory, think
win/win, seek first to understand then to be understood, synergize, and to
sharpen the saw. The habit that stood out to me most is to begin with the end
in mind. Too often I start something without clear direction of where I want to
go. I think this is something that so many people struggle with as well. If we don’t
know where we want to go, then how will we figure out how to get there? I have
come to realize that I need to set some clear goals of where I want to be long
term in my journey of entrepreneurship. I have known what I wanted to do since
I was a senior in high school. I am not four years out of high school and I am
just barely starting to put it into action. I just wasted four years! It’s
because I didn’t take control and set long term goals. Although I need to work
on all of the seven habits, this is one I feel is important for me to start
with.
